The Hell's Kitchen Farm Project is an urban rooftop farm on the rooftop of the Metro Baptist Church in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. It's managed and run by volunteers and born out of the outgrowth of community discussions concerning nutritional security, especially the scarcity of affordable fresh produce, in Hell’s Kitchen.

Design42 lent our support as a local architect in designing a solution to providing raised bed containers that wouldn't destabilize the one hundred-year-old building. The 4,000-square-foot rooftop now holds 52 raised beds in blue kiddie pools that grow fresh fruits and vegetables for the community and the harvests are distributed by the Rauschenbush Metro Ministries Food Pantry.
